The flyer is very suggestive that it is supported by Nickelodeon/Disney as it states that you + audition=you on TV. It also states "Be on your favorite TV show Hannah Montanna Drake & Josh and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. My name is Kim Miles, mom of Megan (age 8) we purchased Fundamentals track 2.0 + a photo shoot, and were just about to purchase the zed card and portfolio, thank god I didn't! Fran Clairmont and I and a couple of other parents, Linda and Tom, are really pushing hard to take these guys down and hard, they have certainly messed with the wrong city and partents. I will be posting some more information about class action lawsuits and how to start one very soon, also, if possible we all need to push hard with individual police and attorney general reports, and try our hardest to get other states involved in this in with us. All of us should be doing the most we can collectively to find trace and preserve evidence. Please do not call Timothy Leung about your photos as he does not have them and is just as upset as we are for our children. We need to push with Local police and judges to get them to seize the images of our children. Most of you will now have to become your childs manager and develop your photos that you do have and get your childs name out there to agencies yourselves. You can do it! It certainly sounds like all here are willing to support this effort as am I. I realize it is still the weekend and there probably isn't much we can do until tomorrow, Monday June 2. Hi

My name is Corinne, I am the Exec Director of a professional acting school in St Petersburg, FL (Tampa Bay) founded in 1992. I want to send my deepest heartfelt apologies to all who were hurt by these scam artists posing as legitimate training schools. It seems that this has been going on all over the country by this group (Pacific M&T) and I am surprised that they have gotten this far without being arrested.

My first advise to all is to call your local arts council and find a good school for your kids. Let's not allow this to turn them off to the arts.

My second advise is to get your state Legislators involved to keep your state from allowing these people to set up shop. We know in Florida that each time these types come into our state they leave with about a MILLION of your hard earned DOLLARS!!! Also get your State Attorney involved, and you might contact the FBI as well with your stories. Good luck with all of this....do not give up.

Next if you put this on a credit card of line of credit, your Bank might be able to help you trace them and get your money back.

Now, for those IN FLORIDA and especially Tampa Bay, if you have been ripped off by these people, VENUE ACTORS STUDIO is offing a summer camp for 50% off our regular price to you.

Please contact us at 727-822-6194 or via email at VenueActorStudio@gmail.com

our web site is www.VenueActorStudio.org if you would like more info on our not for profit group.

We want to help mend those little hearts out there which are aching today.

Sincerely,

Corinne Broskette, Exec Director
Venue Actors Studio

My name is Lorraine Torres. I signed my daughter up in February for the 2.0 fundamentals. When we paid the $2500 I met the director Jeffrey Sikora right after. I just got such a horrible feeling about him and as soon as I got home I did a bit of research on them. I called the number on the top of my credit card slip to ask a few questions about the program and it was actually John Robert Powers in San Diego. She told me that they were not affiliated with PMAA which then made me really suspicious. I called our so called "talent Dirctor" Anna but of course she did not respond. I then called the JRP office the next day and asked for Anna Chan and they said "Oh, I'm sorry, shes out of town on business". I drove by the address in Seattle where the classes where the school was supposed to be but of course there was nothing. I sent a letter requesting that they cancel our contract within the 72 hours of signing and they actually did refund my money except for the $250 non-refundable deposit. My daughter was so upset that I cancelled it but now she finally realizes why I did. I think its appauling that these people can do this and get away with it. We all work so hard to give our kids a good future and how dare they just come along and try to take it from us.

Also I shared this on another blog, Corinne, from Venue Actors Studio in St Petersburg, Florida, extended herself and studio to my twins who were also invited, accepted and scammed by PMAA. My kids have been attending her studio. today is day three, and they absoluteley love it. They are very legite, unbelievably so much more reasonable. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!

IF YOU WERE RIPPED OFF BY PACIFIC MODEL AND TALENT IN TAMPA, PLEASE CONTACT ME.

I have been called by the FDLE (FL Dept of Law Enforcement) in Tampa to assist them in compiling a list of people who were taken in by this scam last month. We believe that there were at least 30 kids involved from x # of families. There is no list of who was involved since the FDLE is still seeking the perps an have no records to go by.

So if you were part of the damaged group, or know someone who was taken by them, PLEASE contact Venue Actors Studio so we can put these people where they belong (hopefully in jail and get the FBI involved)

Thanks to everyone who helps to keep these criminals out of our state.
Lets start a letter campaign to the Gov and the DBPR so that these criminals have to register and be licensed by the state before they can set up shop and advertise.

Oh, did they go to the Miami area? I heard word of that as well.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON.

I just received a letter from the Bellevue (WA) Police Department stating they have completed their investigation and have turned the case (#08-5892) over to the FBI & WA-AG.

My credit union has put a hold on our payment of $5,900 to these bums, so they are not going to get anything from us. I am still unaware if a class-action lawsuit has been started. Can anyone provide info?

I would be very cautious because there are groups of supposed "talent agencies" that go around the country scamming families out of money with false hopes that their "acting classes" will get them into TV commercials, shows, and movies. I was scammed in 2008, paying $2450 for classes, then we were notified that the classes were canceled because the company went "bankrupt." We never received a penny of our money back. A class action suit was started, but I never heard anything back from it either. These people get as much money as they can under one company name, then file bankruptcy, then start a new company under a different name. I have since heard radio ads for several companies with different names that sounded exactly like the ad that I had responded to, just changing the company name; they say their agents can get children into Disney shows as the hook.

I suggest doing some background research on the company, such as Better Business Bureau; if it was started recently (last year or two), it may not be legit. An established company around for many years may be ok. Also, if they are charging a lot of money, be wary. Check around to see how much local acting classes cost, probably a couple hundred dollars overall would be reasonable, maybe $30-$50 per class. If it's more than that, it's not worth it and possibly a scam. Also, you should be able to pay as you go (e.g., per class or per month), not all up front. These are all red flags.

You could also call or email your local chapter of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) to see if they've heard of this company and if they are legit. http://www.sagaftra.org/locals
Our local chapter's website has a directory of SAG-endorsed talent agents for searching; yours may, too.

Basically, follow the rule, "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is." It's best to get your child involved with local acting/theater groups and if they say your child has real potential for screen acting, follow their guidance on how to pursue that avenue.
